C.S. Lewis’s Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold is a reimagining of the ancient Greek myth of Cupid and Psyche. First published in 1956, Lewis himself called it "my best book". The novel’s central question—"How can the gods meet us face to face till we have faces?"—becomes a meditation on self-knowledge, divine justice, and whether human love can ever be truly selfless.
