The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong traces its origins back to the inauguration of the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese on 1 October, 1987, of which Dr Sun Yat-sen was one of the the first and most illustrious graduates, and it accordingly celebrates its centenary in 1987. This volume relates the development of the Faculty from its beginnings and commemorates the establishment of one of the oldest and most reputable medical schools in South East Asia. It is hoped that it will be of special attraction and appeal not only to those connected with the Faculty but also a much wider audience interested in the development of modern medical education in this region.
