《學校實用文闡釋》一書是《香港母語教育系列》的第二部專著。香港自推行母語教學以來，很多學校的文件都轉用了中文。教師撰寫有關文件時，每每需要一些參考資料。為此，香港大學母語教學教師支援中心從很多學校徵集了大量的實用文材料，經分類,疏理和潤飾後編撰成書。本書特色之一是包羅了本港學校範圍內使用的實用文類，特色之二是從功能語言學的角度研究，把一些常用的文類作了語境及圖式結構的示例分析。本書的材料既來自學校，亦旨在回饋學校，希望對教師在實用文寫作和教學上有一定的幫助。
