Victor Edward Apps
VICTOR EDWARD APPS was born in Canada and moved out to Hong Kong at the age of eight. A budding writer in his youth, he won the junior section of the 1996 South China Morning Post Short Story Competition and interned at HK Magazine. Between returning to Canada for university, working as a high school teacher and subsequently switching careers into accounting, he was too busy to fit in any writing. Then the 2008 economic crisis happened and Victor found himself with time on his hands. He decided to sketch out some preliminary ideas for a glimmer of a story at the back of his mind, and then kept writing and writing. Months later, the first draft of “The Perilous Passage of Princess Petunia Peasant” was complete. Victor has since returned to Hong Kong and currently splits his time between a banking career and wondering what Petunia’s next adventure will be.
