《李商隱詩集》編自《李義山詩集》，李商隱為晚唐詩人，存詩約六百首。當中有不少作品直接觸及時政，尤其是《行次西郊作一百韻》，詩人以途中見聞，展現了民不聊生的社會實況。而於李商隱以《無題》的詩歌中，表現出撲朔迷離而又精緻婉轉的感情，為李商隱詩中最富有特色的部分，也獲得後世最多的關注。

李商隱，字義山，他幼年喪父，隨母過著清貧的生活。十六歲時，因擅長古文而知名，移家洛陽，結識令狐楚等前輩。卻因陷入「牛李黨爭」而仕途幾番起落。其後十幾年漂流各地，為各地幕僚，開始篤信佛教，最後因病退職還鄉，在鄭州去世。
