Out of the Silent Planet, the first novel in C. S. Lewis’s “Space Trilogy”, holds a special place in the landscape of science fiction. First published in 1938, the story follows Dr. Elwin Ransom, a scholar of language and literature, who unexpectedly becomes embroiled in a cosmic adventure. As he explores a mysterious planet called Malacandra, he encounters its intelligent inhabitants and learns about their society, beliefs, and their relationship with their environment. Throughout his adventure, Ransom confronts questions about morality, spirituality, and the universe’s divine order.
