林汝珩（號碧城，1907–59）是傑出的香港詞人。他的詞集《碧城樂府》是香港文學的瑰寶，是整個現代華語文學中的優美篇章。原書1959年出版，只在小範圍內的親戚、朋友、詞人之間流傳。這次再版，使原書第一次得以和廣大讀者見面。新版本包括〈導言〉和相關附屬材料，比如其他堅社詞人在堅社社課中的詞作，以便比較研究。
半個多世紀過去了。在目前全球化的大趨勢下，香港在努力尋求自己的文化身份和認同，挖掘被塵封的歷史記憶，書寫它的文學史。此時很有必要重新出版《碧城樂府》。重溫《碧城樂府》是一種文學欣賞和美學體驗；同時讀者也能夠加深瞭解錯綜複雜的中國現代史。
林汝珩是1950年代香港的著名詞社「堅社」的重要一員。本書裏我們要追憶的也是已經或即將消失的時代。今天恐怕很少人知道林汝珩這個名字。但是在1940年代的廣東和1950年代的香港，他是一位廣為人知的人物。他的一生多姿多彩，而最終以詞而聲聞於世。在混亂的二十世紀，他集學子、官宦、商人、詞人於一身。
